Introduced in 2005 as the replacement boat for the strong-selling Cabo 31, the Cabo 32 Express is a luxury-class fishing machine whose mega-wide 13’3″ beam results in more cockpit, helm deck, and interior space than any boat in her class. Heavily built on a modified-V hull, prop pockets reduce the draft and shaft angles allowing her to operate in fairly shallow water. Standard features include an integral bow pulpit, bait prep center with sink, 45-gallon transom livewell, cockpit bolsters, large-capacity fish box, cockpit rod storage, transom door and gate, generator, fresh/raw-water washdowns, cockpit lights, gunnel rod holders, and trim tabs. The entire helm deck lifts on hydraulic rams for engine access. Below, the Cabo’s upscale (and very spacious) interior with double berth forward, convertible dinette, and full-service galley sleeps four. Constructed to some of the highest standards in the industry, Cabo’s obsessive attention to detail is on display in every nook and cranny. No lightweight (and not noted for her fuel efficiency), 480hp Yanmar—or 440hp Cummins—diesels cruise the Cabo 32 at 26–28 knots (low 30s top).
The CABO 32 Express is a modern take on the traditionalist’s sportfishing boat: practical, compact, agile, and absolutely seaworthy. The 32 is designed to meet the specialized needs of the serious saltwater angler. She features gear and amenities normally found on much larger models. In other words, don’t let the size of this pocket battlewagon fool you. The 32 Express is pure CABO inside and out, and pound for pound one of the finest production sportfishers in her class.
Proper hull balance is the most critical, and most difficult to attain, design aspect of a boat under 35 feet. It’s also what sets the 32 Express apart from the crowd. The CABO team worked closely with award-winning Michael Peters Yacht Design to create a beamy (13’3″) sportfisher that performs exceptionally well whether running, trolling, or drifting. The 32 Express utilizes a weight distribution similar to that of a bigger vessel, carrying as much mass aft as possible, so she tracks better in following seas and rides higher in waves. The payoff is a drier, faster, smoother ride than the competition.
With the 32 Express, good fishing comes in a small package. A bait prep center, circulating bait tank, and large-capacity insulated fish box provide tournament-level precision and convenience in the extra wide cockpit. Along the transom, an outward-opening door supported by beefy custom hinges has a top gate for safe, dependable use. Self-bailing scuppers along with fresh and saltwater washdowns add utility.
